I'm back & slowly easing into life. Yesterday was a rocky work day, and next week promises to be more of the same. As a result, despite it being a short week, I need the weekend to recharge & prep for what is sure to be an intense week ahead.
Everything I own feels tight after a few weeks of indulgences. The hiking food was shockingly good & they fed us very well. Time to get back to serious business on the exercise & fitness front.
Here are my plans for today:
- Workout class
- Return a few items to REI that I didn't need for the hike
- Work on our taxes. Yuck. I did manage to complete Sam's taxes yesterday, but his tax situation is pretty easy. Two W2s, and nothing else. ;-)
- Menu prep for the week ahead
- Work on calendar & scheduling for next week
- And, workouts for next week
- Find a bottle of wine & a card for my friend. We are meeting up tomorrow for a workout class & coffee. Her birthday was this week.
- Call a friend who is struggling
What about you? What's on your list today?
I would love to know which hiking company you used if you are comfortable sharing. Previously we have gone out with Sierra Club, and with a company called Walkers Britain (They do hikes all over Europe, not just in Britain.) We used the later for our 18 day, 225 mile Santiago walk in Spain a few years ago. Super well organized, and very long days of up to 22 miles, so we were able to enjoy Spanish cuisine to our hearts content, LOL.
ReplyDeleteThe company we used is the only company that services this particular trail with guides/lodges (you could also do it full backpack style on your own) - it's called Ultimate Hikes& they have an exclusive relationship with the Dept of Conservation. We thought the entire experience was fantastic & exceeded our expectations by a wide margin. They are a local, NZ family owned business, from what I understand. - HP
DeleteI will be at work, plugging along. But I love that you have "call a friend" on your list of things to do. I'm sure that friend really appreciates that!
ReplyDeleteHope your work shift is as easy as possible, Gina! - HP
DeleteGreat list, me well I am just counting the days until a certain furry companion goes home.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Sending good vibes on the rocky work week! I so understand! Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteResting and recuperating over here. Sounds like you’re ready to hit the ground running.
