Last year, for example, we reduced our travel budget by the amount we earned in cash back points.<br />Tamarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18248579159497266955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2445523662180116681.post-53215554818454630422016-12-22T13:19:16.107-08:002016-12-22T13:19:16.107-08:00If they're gifts to me, I treat as a great. For things purchased out of my budget, I need to track accordingly.Hawaii Plannerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04760426766801381563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2445523662180116681.post-7650192804297776862016-12-22T09:10:51.347-08:002016-12-22T09:10:51.347-08:00I am going to have to start looking at gift cards ...I am going to have to start looking at gift cards differently, though I have very few of them.Anne in the kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01533249631969001657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2445523662180116681.post-47847361359027864442016-12-22T08:34:31.793-08:002016-12-22T08:34:31.793-08:00I have a couple of gift cards that were given as g...I have a couple of gift cards that were given as gifts - I treat myself to treats with those. Any that I've purchased myself I treat like cash for instance an expensive grocery store that gave 100 airmiles with a $200 GC I use only for their loss leaders and meat specials (oddly the expensive grocery store often has reduced meat that is way before its best before date). I actually deduct the amount spent on the card from my monthly grocery budget each time it gets used that way it keeps me on track.
