It's been really exciting to enter this phase, but you're right - we are big on re-evaluating as things happen & "life" happens. :-) Hawaii Plannerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04760426766801381563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2445523662180116681.post-17133995565493879052017-08-03T16:42:50.417-07:002017-08-03T16:42:50.417-07:00I love reading your plans and I love that you reas...I love reading your plans and I love that you reassess whenever you need to.Anne in the kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01533249631969001657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2445523662180116681.post-7519392989449099302017-08-03T10:11:36.746-07:002017-08-03T10:11:36.746-07:00It has definitely been motivating, & I have a ...It has definitely been motivating, & I have a count down going to track this. I'm very happy that we are going to Hawaii in October for our anniversary. I have that as a forced break between now & the end, which I think I will need to pull through the hardest part of the year (November & December are the busiest/most stressful months at work). I'm definitely ...I think it's a great plan! I'm definitely not considering this a retirement, but a transition to flexible working (role/company TBD), and also the flexibility not to need to work if it comes to that. With lupus, I want to ensure I have the flexibility should my health change significantly.Hawaii Plannerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04760426766801381563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2445523662180116681.post-43306117748108995062017-08-03T10:04:32.401-07:002017-08-03T10:04:32.401-07:00The cool thing about your plan is each and every d...The cool thing about your plan is each and every day you go to work now directly contributes to the savings for when you won't be working there! Much easier to go to work when you look at it like that.Cheapchickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15158208632054014311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2445523662180116681.post-62362165829235320842017-08-03T08:46:34.237-07:002017-08-03T08:46:34.237-07:00You have been so smart looking at all the options/...You have been so smart looking at all the options/opportunities. I wish you well as you make your final decisions. I think it is a given that I probably will need to work at least until DD2 turns 26 (assuming that part of the insurance provision stays, which is under 10 years. I'll still be a relatively young retiree at 61, and the additional 18 months will result in probably (not counting the additional savings opportunity) $5,000 more in my pension, and an additional $48,000 to stick in my 401 K. As long as I keep a good work life balance, that seems an ok trade ff for that much more security for me, hubs, and our daughter as she launches a career.
