The boys are home with me until Thursday, and then it's back to school. I can't believe Sam is starting his last year of middle school! I forgot to mention that he met up with a girl he met at camp on Sunday, and they went roller skating together. It was adorable. She was very sweet & four inches taller than Sam. :-) Being in a roller skating rink with the 80s music blaring reminded me of my middle school days! Sam made me promise not to "embarrass him". I think I did reasonably well. ;-)
I listed a few new items on eBay yesterday, and sold three things. I'm thrilled! Just when I think I've cleaned out anything & everything that we could possibly sell.... I go a bit deeper & find something new. Yesterday's big score was a Victoria's Secret bikini. As much as I'd like to pretend I will wear it again... probably not going to happen. Before I had lupus & was consistently running 30 miles/week, my weight was *cough* in a different place. The bikini sold overnight. Probably should have priced it higher!
I'll continue to clean out the house & see what else we might have that we can get rid of. I also requested a bag from ThredUp, to see if we can get rid of some of the boys clothes that are in great condition. We've had no success via other forums, so it will be good to check out an alternative.
Here's what else is happening in our world today:
- Mail & package three eBay sales
- Appraiser coming over at 10 am, as part of our refi
- Working out - need a cool option
- Taking Sam to a doctor's appointment
- Taking the boys to back to school night
- Taking Sam + carpool buddies to soccer practice
- Start gathering ThredUp items
- Return 3 library books that are due today
- Run to the produce stand. I went yesterday, and forgot one of the items I went for. Oops.
What about you? What's happening for you on this Tuesday?
I am impressed with you resellers. For me, when I want something out of the house, I ask around to see if anybody can use it, or I just donate it, ESPECIALLY clothing. Prior to the move, on my way to the thrift shop to donate some toys, I pulled up in the driveway of a new neighbor who I know has lots of kids too, (well, about 20 acres away--can't see them from our house) popped open my trunk, and showed her the bins of Lincoln Logs, Hot Wheels and gel pens and asked if she wanted them. Her kids hauled those to her house before I could even ask her last name!
ReplyDeleteI've definitely had those phases as well. For me, it's a fun little hobby, but we donate a lot as well. Particularly anything bulky or heavy. I just don't have the patience to mail those items.
DeleteExcellent sales - I know what you mean. We purged purged purged this year and have literally gone through every drawer but I still find things that become obsolete or no longer work and continue selling :) It helps that the money goes to our fun fund, keeps me motivated.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy, right? I swear that I'm constantly decluttering, but there's always something lingering that I've forgotten!
DeleteI totally forgot about Thread Up. I should have both my daughters try.
ReplyDeleteI've heard that you don't make much, but clothes can be so hit or miss, I'd rather just get a big pile together, see what happens, & they can donate the rest. That's what I'd be doing anyway.
DeleteWell continuing the work left from yesterday. Even though I sewed all day I did not even begin to get caught up. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting caught up!
DeleteCongrats on your Ebay sale. I should get on Ebay and sell some things that are hanging around here. I hope you are enjoying your day.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to wake up & see that a few things have sold. I kind of enjoy the sales, but go in phases where I find it to be a hassle. When I hit that point, I just skip it. Likewise, hope you are having a great day.
