The ski trip edition! Here's what we'll be eating this week, while we're in Lake Tahoe.
- Friday - drive day. Frozen pizza & salads when we get to the condo.
- Saturday - NYE! Steak, caesar salad & garlic bread. And, champagne, of course. I bought special "festive" drinks for the kids, as well.
- Sunday - Spaghetti & meatballs + garlic bread (both prepped in advance).
- Monday - We're switching to a hotel, as I need to work for some of the time. We'll be eating out.
- Tuesday - At the hotel. Eating out.
- Wednesday - At the hotel. Eating out.
- Thursday - Driving home from Tahoe, so something scrappy when we get home. Likely baked chicken & gyozos.
- Friday - TBD, but I'm hoping for chicken curry & rice.
What about you? What's on your menu this week?
We are having chicken tenderloins, rice and beans, lentil style tacos, so far. I hope your trip to Lake Tahoe was a fun one. 😊
ReplyDeleteIt's been very snowy & some wild driving & snow shoveling, but a lot of fun.
DeleteI might be doubling up - thought I hit publish, but moved away. After making a list of possible meals, not sure for tonight. Leaning towards a ground turkey meatloaf and twice a baked potato that can easily be warmed for my son late tomorrow/ Wednesday morning.
ReplyDeleteWe rarely watch TV at home, but at the condo, we were all watching the cooking channel. There was some sort of "worst cooks of America" highlights of 2022. One was a guy who made a meatloaf in the shape of a teddy bear. It was hysterically bad. Hopefully you opted for a more traditional shape. ;-)
DeleteI just posted my menu plan for the week, but highlights will include tex-mex tilapia, date night for Bill and me, air fryer chicken and broccoli, and spaghetti. I usually cook every night and then leftovers are eaten by Bill for lunch. Your menu plan sounds good. I had to look up what a gyoza was.
ReplyDeleteI really like tilapia, and should add it to our menu! Gyozos are also known as pot stickers, depending on who you ask!
DeleteCurrently sitting at airport after almost a foot of snow where some of my family lives, flying back to 75 degrees and potential tornadoes tomorrow….lol. I plan on cooking dried red beans and rice for the basis of a lot of my meals this month, New Orleans style except vegetarian. I am on a no spend month. I did pack my sandwich for the airport bc the food at airports is so high. Maybe it is just me though bc I seldom eat out. Your meal plan sounds great! Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteThat is a huge weather shift! The snow is wild here as well. And yes, airport food is nuts. Hotel food is also nuts. I can't believe how expensive things are here. We get free breakfast, which is actually a really nice buffet, but it's $40/pp, if you are paying out of pocket!!
DeleteI hope your trip is/was wonderful. Might be a tad envious!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, so much snow, but overall a really great time.
DeleteMainly using up leftovers and a bit of food that was packaged up and frozen before the holidays.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I heard there was quite a lot of rough weather out there this week, I hope you get in and out safely!
ReplyDeleteIt's been super wild. The resort has received their lifetime snow record over 24 hours, and 7" in an hour at one point. We switched to the hotel vs condo a day early, because the drive was just too dangerous & we kept having to spend hours digging the car out each day. The hotel is supposed to be ski in/out, but one of the lifts is closed, so they offer a shuttle service. It's so much easier than driving the hour+ from the condo.
