But today, everything is looking sparkly, post all of that rain, and hopefully it will be a good opportunity for the kids to get some exercise, and for the adults to get some Vitamin D.
Here's what's on the list today. I consider the first five the "positive flywheel" that I'm trying to put into motion each day of the quarantine. Basically, make sure I'm making time for the things that are keeping me mentally & physically healthy, and also take advantage of the non-commute time to make the quarantine have positive benefits, so it feels like less of an overall negative.
- Meditate
- Journal
- Work out. Not sure what today will be. Perhaps a run and 10 minute abs
- List 1 item on eBay
- A chore around the house or yard (I'm thinking I'll dust the beds/nightstands & clean our bedroom fan)
- Work meetings
- A couple of work projects
- Work in the yard over lunch
- Spanish Duolingo
- Farsi flashcards with the kids
- I've made carnitas for dinner, so need to prep those
That's it. Do you have any positive daily activities you're trying to build or increase during the time at home?
The main positive thing we still have is business - for now and at least another 2 months as we bill quarterly and just billed after speaking to each of our clients. We agreed to reduce billing to half on one of our long-term clients to help them get through this period of time, we are taking one quarter at a time. None of them want to cancel at this point so that is good. Work really structures our week, that plus something yummy to eat for supper each night.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that your business is still running. I'm sure it's both financially critical, but as you said, also gives you some structure. Work is the same here as well. Even though there are frustrating parts of it, it does give us structure, and getting paid is... quite important. ;-)
DeleteBurning off energy outside is so good for the kids. Your 5 on the flywheel is so good for you. We need to take care of ourselves and you are on the right track. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. It's helping, I think. I really need that focus every day to make sure things don't start spinning in the other (negative) direction.
