We were lazy & ordered Greek takeout on Friday (also celebrating that M had a great interview day), and with me starting a new job, we definitely need a menu plan so this doesn't turn into a trend.
- Friday - delicious Greek takeout. I had a gyro bowl
- Saturday - leftover Korean beef & rice
- Sunday - Philly cheesesteaks
- Monday - chicken fajitas
- Tuesday - M & Nick will be in Boulder, so Sam & I will probably have a frozen pizza, like the party animals we are
- Wednesday - chicken fajitas over salad
- Thursday - leftovers
- Friday - likely grilled hot dogs or burgers, for the 4th of July
What about you? What's on your menu plan this week?
I'd love Greek options closer. There's not many in the twin cities period. Nothing wrong with a frozen pizza. There's some that are quite good especially when compared to some of the "fast food" pizza places.
ReplyDeleteWe are lucky and have a few really good Greek options, although my favorite "fast" food Greek was near our place in Seattle when I was pregnant & we ate it A LOT! - HP
DeleteYou party animal you! 😂
ReplyDeleteGreek takeout sounds delicious.
Best of luck to M after his great interview.
We are totally party animals. ;-) We may also heat up frozen appetizers another night. Thanks - M has tons of interviews still to go, but he's been feeling good about them so far. - HP
DeleteI wish the few reasonably priced restaurants around here were good. All we really have are Mexican places, loads of them, some better than others, and only one delivers. Other than the one (and pricy)restaurant we have on the island, I really have a hard time getting motivated to go to a restaurant. (Drive, cost, mediocre food and lousy service.) Anyway, Friday was cold and rainy so I made a pot roast. Last night it was only four of us as we had some kids at Seattle Pride for the night so we had fish (butterfly shrimp, really) and chips, and youngest baked a pink strawberry cake with Chantilly frosting. (Okay, I actually made the frosting as it’s finicky.) Tonight is a roast chicken. Going forward in no order we will have leftover pot roast in some form (cottage pie) baked salmon, tuna pasta salad, tortilla soup with the leftover chicken (if there is any) and maybe a lasagna. I made a batch of ginger cookies which got rave reviews, and I have a request for peanut butter cookies. I don’t want to jinx myself, but I feel my cooking mojo returning.

Your meals always sound so great. And, I'm very happy for you that your cooking mojo is returning!! - HP
DeleteI agree frozen pizza can be good. We usually take a Trader Joe's roasted veggies pizza and add things like sausage & more veggies to it.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite pizzas is a homemade pesto chicken pizza with grapes on it. We stopped making pizza a while back, when M's flour allergy became a problem, but maybe I should make it again! Yum. - HP
DeleteSometimes take out is the right choice!
ReplyDeleteOver here I'm menu planning for two granddaughters, one who is very very picky. So, I'll be doing a lot of build-your-own meals to allow each to enjoy what they wish, and ignore what they don't care for.
It's strange to have so much food in the house, though! Their visit on top of making dinner tonight for my book club. I have a pot roast slow cooking, green beans ready to steam, and a ricotta orange amaretto pound cake cooling on the counter for dessert.
We did (and still do) a lot of build your own meal options, because it allows our pickier eater to customize a bit more. He eats the majority of what we eat, but really prefers food that's not mixed (a casserole would probably be a game over for him ;-)). He likes to eat things mostly on the side. Your pound cake sounds delicious! - HP
DeleteUsually menu while Kurt is visiting, though making a bit more than was planned so as to feed my body builder son.
ReplyDeleteYour menu looks great.
God bless.
It takes a lot to feed someone who is focused on building muscle mass. - HP
DeleteBest of Luck on your new job today!
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you! It's a big adjustment after having an extended period of time off, but I'm enjoying it so far. - HP
DeleteI am excited to hear about the job!
ReplyDeleteIt's been tiring & fun. The team I'm primarily working with is in London, so lots of early meetings & schedule shifting to get in time during the overlap hours. But, I like the people & it sounds like a fun & interesting challenge for sure. - HP
