Fitness Monday

The weekend went by way too quickly this week, but here we are... Monday again. ;-)

Weight: 157, down 1.8 lbs since last week

Calories: 1,407/day

Steps: 14,655

Workouts: It was a particularly crazy work week, with lots of things coming together to in a way that made more creative/intense workouts difficult. But, I adapted & tried to do something.

  • 4 elliptical workouts
  • 1 yoga class
  • 1 -5 mile hike with a friend
  • 1 intense cardio/strength workout class

Goals for the week: keep the eating in check on my trip. Get in some sort of exercise on the days we are driving to/from St. George.

What about you? How are you doing with your health goals?

  1. I weighed in at 176 this morning, so down one pound from yesterday. Still swollen, but using compression to help with that. You're doing so well getting in all of your steps! I'm up to about 6,000 per day up from about 2,000 right after my surgery. I'm still waiting on the green light to return to exercise, but getting strong every day. I hope you have a terrific, healthy week. :)

    1. I’m in same situation as you….put weight back on after surgery that I thought I would never do. Just had a long talk with myself and giving it another shot….im very embarrassed that I got so out of control. I gave up on me but hopefully I can like myself again

    2. You've got this, SAM! It's hard to get back on track, and you've had a lot on your plate. Hopefully you can tap into a few habits that stick & make you feel energized. The consistent theme for me has been working out, even when my weight has been up & down, the working out has felt good & kept me a bit more positive. - HP

  3. As an extrovert, I loved going to the gym to meet my friends and a few co-workers at the obscene hour of 5 AM during my working years. No way would I do so now in retirement, when even 9 AM feels like it's to early, LOL.

Given the hours and demands of your job, I can't tell you how much I admire your ongoing commitment to your workouts. Really, you are amazing even if you don't always feel that you are!

    1. Aww, that's so nice to hear, Tamara! Thank you. I also really like classes, and miss my 9:30 am workout gang so much! That's definitely not in the cards, even on a slow day, because working with London makes mornings a peak time of overlap. I enjoy how I feel when I work out, which certainly helps. I find it easier to manage that then staying on top of the many, many food choices I feel like you need to make in a week to stay healthy. - HP

  5. Hmmm, I am slowly but surely adding to my step count. It is moving up but still not where I want it to be.

    God bless.
