I can't believe it's Wednesday! I finally heard back from Nick, and he is back from his Yosemite backpacking trip. They had no cell service, so of course, I worried while he was out of contact. In case you wonder why I worry about the guy, here's the proof of life photo he sent earlier in the trip. I absolutely adore his adventurous spirit, but.... he definitely gives me anxiety!
He is now on a road trip to LA & Santa Barbara, to see other friends. Living his best life, for sure. He needs to get home & start earning money, because gas is expensive & road trips are very pricey right now.
I had a very productive day yesterday & turned the corner on a few big projects I have coming up. That felt great. I'm still very slammed with work & scheduling. I think I ended up putting in about 14 hours yesterday - not good & not healthy. I did manage to work out by setting up my desk attachment for my treadmill, and using that while I walked & caught up on a class I'm taking.
I need another very productive day, so I can get caught up on work, after my in person activities last week. They also included a bunch of mandatory "social events" + drive time, which killed my normal amount of productivity.
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Ill update folks at some point this week, but I'm on an activity pause after a stupid fall-just as weather has been perfectforcwaljs and outdoor chores rather than sitting in front of a screen. That's quitea picture. The only mom protection is to know it was sent after he was safely on two feet.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your fall, and hope you are feeling better! Yes, with Nick I often don't want to know what he's up to until he reports that he's safe & sound again. - HP
DeleteOh my goodness, that picture is designed to induce extra anxiety :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you hit that 14 hour day mark, I had so many of those last year and it is really tough to get through and get past that need to keep grinding. Hopefully you can reduce things enough to get down to a regular set of days again.
Right?! I asked for proof of life & that was my reward. ;-) I'm so close to the end. I just keep reminding myself of that. - HP
DeleteI can see why your mother heart needs a coffee!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCrazy boy! - HP
DeleteAhhhh! Life as the other of sons. I do understand!
ReplyDeleteMy other child is very cautious. He was a bit of a daredevil when he was young, but not anymore. Nick, however... - HP
DeleteOh HP, that picture scared me to death...not a Mother, just an Aunt! Not Bossy!
ReplyDeleteYou should see the other things he gets up to. He's a wild child. - HP
DeleteOddly enough, my daughter is the one who would be most likely to send me a picture like that. My boys are more cautious.
ReplyDelete-Meg B.
I like adventure fine, but M was definitely a daredevil growing up. He's mellowed a bit now. ;-) - HP
DeleteWhen I can't reach the sons I get a bit worried and start leaving messages like "Do I need to phone for a wellness check?" Usually when they get that on their phones or in a text, I hear back quite quickly.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
