- Work on either journaling or creative writing for at least 2 hours (1 hour/flight?)
- Work on photobooks for minimum of 1 hour. Sometimes I'm awake & insanely jet lagged/tried, so maybe if I wake up early but am in no shape to really accomplish something, I can at least start deleting pictures.
- Work out every day of my trip. I really need to stay on top of my running.
- Meditate 2x.
- Continue fasting in the morning.
- Avoid dairy
- Keep my calories + fruit & vegetables in check
Before my flight leaves today, I want to go for a run. Other than that, all I have to do is finish the last minute packing, & I'm otherwise pretty much set.
Here's what I accomplished from the list yesterday.
Make muffins for M (we're out)VacuumClean the kitchen (a deeper clean than I do after I make dinner each day)Clean the bathrooms- Figure out why our shower fixtures (the silver parts) have rusted? Clean as needed - I've figured it out, but ran out of time to deal with.
LaundryFinalize schedule for everyone & review with the kids, so they know what's happening each day (where to go, how to get to school, rides to soccer games, etc)- Finish packing for Tokyo
Menu plan for the weekShopping listCostcoProduce stand- Go for a run - my stomach wasn't feeling great, so I walked instead.
- Strength training workout - skipped altogether.
Defrost the ice tray in the freezer. The ice froze over & is now in a giant block.Bake bacon & package for mealsWash sheetsMake bedsTake Christmas lights downMake a list of thank you notes for the boys to write, & ensure it gets done
Altogether, I think I did well with my projects for yesterday. Fingers crossed I can do a better job of staying focused on this work trip. What about you? Were you productive yesterday?
thinking about how to use the time that might seem wasted otherwise is a terrific goal-love your plane ideas. I too find eating is a huge problem on business trips, and I rarely go on them now. Like you said, it is not a reward if you have to pay later in terms of time or health consequences. You sure had a productive day yesterday.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great work trip and can be somewhat productive during the flight. I know I would not be.
ReplyDeleteWe travel by plane frequently, primarily for pleasure. I enjoy playing video games during the flight because it's a treat in that I don't play them otherwise. Makes the time go by fast, which is the primary reason I play them. Otherwise, even when I traveled for work, I abide by food and workout rules. Same breakfast and lunch as at home, calorie wise at the very least, enjoy whatever looks appealing for dinner, but no dessert. Oh, and I also always carry almonds for immediate pick me ups. Plus, walk whenever and wherever possible. Particularly somewhere as fab for walking and looking around as Tokyo is!
ReplyDeleteThat jet lag, though? Sigh, no suggestions there as I get slammed each and every time.
You did amazing on your to do list! Great job! I hope you were able to be productive during your flight. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go to Tokoyo you are so blessed to have a job where you can travel.
ReplyDeleteWe have a Peloton bike, and with that comes the Peloton app. You can get just the app on its own and it has many workouts over a large field of styles and types, as well as guided meditation and yoga, stretching etc. Might be a handy app to have with the travel. It is not free but much less expensive than a gym. I think the app alone is about $20/month.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE crossing off lists. I'm the same way when I travel. Totally blow my diet and exercise. :(
ReplyDeleteJust visited my parents, no exercise and lots of sugar. I was doing a Diet Bet that I'm now going to lose.
If you figure out how to maintain while traveling, please let me know! :)
