Yay for the weekend. I actually was really productive yesterday, so I'm feeling better about heading into the weekend.
It's fun to have Nick home again, particularly as he loves having friends over. I see that a huge dent has been made in the pantry. I always encourage his friends to come over, and remind them that I've stocked up on snacks, so this is totally appropriate & I'm not at all surprised. ;-) I will need to stock up again at Trader Joes! The mini cones were a particularly big hit, but I see that someone heated up pasta leftovers as well.
Here's what's on the agenda for today:
- Long hike (with weighted backpack - first time trying!)
- Clean fridge
- Laundry
- Wash sheets/make beds
- Meal prep
- Drop off return packages
- List a few things on eBay. I need a very light weight, super water proof jacket for our hike in NZ, so I'm going to sell my existing rain jacket, which is very serviceable, but not light weight & moderately water proof. I certainly don't need two.
- Start on my cardamom bread
That will get me started. The hike is going to take quite a bit of time.
What about you? What are you hoping to do today?
Cardamom bread sounds delightful! I listed some things on Ebay yesterday, too. I have been purging my jewelry box (:
ReplyDeleteI always feel good when I get things out of the house! - HP
DeleteI had a few errands to run and just got back home and put things away. I love being the go to house for my daughter's friends too and love it when they eat the snacks we have on hand.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun, isn't it? I like hearing about how everyone is doing & just the young energy that comes with that. - HP
DeleteI feel my excess weight is weighted hiking. Good luck selling and finding the best brain jacket. Mine worked well for the UK weather and that we just went indoors if downpouring, but it wouldn't do in long bouts of walking in the rain. Please share what you end up getting. I miss the college home coming days and seeing the friends.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely hoping to drop a few pounds before NZ, because I'm hiking with more body weight than I want for sure! The rain coat I'm going with is this one (https://www.rei.com/product/241828/rei-co-op-xerocloud-3l-rain-jacket-womens). I got mine on sale & used some REI rewards, but it was still very pricey! It is super light weight, and is supposed to be incredibly water proof. We shall see. - HP
DeleteI hoped to get the mitten seams all completed and I did manage that. I have even managed to begin the reclamation of yarn from handknitted garments that I no longer wear.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
well done, Jackie! - HP
DeletePlease let me know how your cardamon bread turned out. Curious minds want to know before trying to make it.
ReplyDeleteI make it every year. It's usually amazing. Very occasionally I'll have one where the rise isn't good & it's not the same. I freeze the bread, and then travel with it. On Christmas morning, we toast it in the oven & add butter. It has a light glaze as well. LMK if you want the recipe.
