My first leg on Friday was just around 90 degrees (7 miles) & it was 55 & raining on Saturday for my 8 miler. I somehow managed to bring in both legs just at pace time, which I'm thrilled with, given my modest amount of training. ;-)
In fab news, our team came in 2nd place in our division, and 35th overall (out of 400 teams). I'm so impressed with our group! But, performance is secondary to the fun & the adventure of our crew. We had a great time, as usual.
I got home late last night, and went straight to bed. My plans for today after work include:
- Sorting out the budget
- Stretching!
- Making a menu plan
- Figuring out our schedule for the rest of the week
Hope you all had a great weekend!
Congrats on a great trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks - I'm so tried today, but it was a great adventure!
DeleteIs this event similar to Ragnar, which involves one team of 12, two vans and 200 miles? I did one last year if so, and you summed it up perfectly!
ReplyDeleteVery similar. This is actually the largest relay in the world, so depending on your location, very much worth checking out some time. The running portion starts at the top of Mt Hood & goes to the beach in Seaside, Oregon, and all the way through the back of the coastal range on your way there. I've done both the walking & the running events - they are both fabulous.
DeleteGlad you made it home safe and sound. A friend of mine ran a 55 km marathon in Iceland this summer...I think your style of relay/run is much more agreeable lol
ReplyDeleteOooh, that sounds super intense. The longest I've ever done is a half marathon. When I was in great running shape, I've done closer to 15 miles, but nothing approximating 55K. That just sounds super painful!!
