This is the first Saturday in a long time without a soccer game! Sam's club season ended last weekend, and Nick injured himself at high school practice, so he'll need to miss the last two games this weekend.
What will I do with all of this free time?! I'm giddy with the idea of nothing going on.
Here's what's on the plan for today:
- Defrost meat for meals
- Make banana muffins
- Make a Thanksgiving shopping list
- Stop by Rite Aid & the produce stand
- Pick up a few items at the grocery store
- Go to an early workout class
- Laundry
- Sweep the garage. We could build a turf field with all of the turf in our garage. Both the club fields & school fields are made of turf, and those tiny pellets get everywhere.
- Clean the fridge
- Organize & inventory the freezer
That's it from my end. What are you up to this weekend?
DH is trying to catch up on sleep before we head to a funeral of sort. We might do some shopping and dinner out too. He's really down with his friends death and did not need a furnace issue to deal with yesterday. I'm sorry Nick is injured. I hope it's not severe and he recovers well
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your husband's grief. That sounds so hard. Sending good thoughts to him this weekend.
DeleteNick has scoliosis, so he gets recurrent back pain pretty regularly. He also is not stretching enough, & I think that triggered some knee pain. Hopefully rest will help.
Hate to hear about your son’s injury. I hope he heals up quickly! Other than picking up a grocery order, I’m planning on knocking out the laundry and catching up on blog reading. Hope you enjoy your “free” weekend! 😊
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm hoping rest will help his knee.
DeleteI went to the laundromat and washed blankets and comforter, preparing for my brother to visit. Then I hung out with the grandchildren for a few hours, got a haircut and now just unwinding.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're getting a chance to unwind, & spend time with the grandkids.
DeleteThat sounds like the perfect way to spend a Saturday. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI hope the knee injury isn't too bad and rest is all that is needed.
God bless.
Turf balls? That is a new one for me! Hope you enjoyed/are enjoying your quieter weekend, and that Nick's injury is mild and he bounces back.
ReplyDeleteOver here we are just back from a really glorious hike in a nearby National Forest with our hiking group. We had a fun rock scrabble up to the peak, our goal point, and enjoyed lunch on a rock 3200 feet up, which allowed us to enjoy gorgeous views of the ocean that was 20 miles in the distance. Back home now, showered, clean, and tired, DH just headed out to pick up pizza, which we will eat while enjoying the last couple of episodes of The Crowne.
Oh yes, turf fields have the grass on top, and then tiny pellets below that. They get into absolutely everything. Once the player comes off the field, you can usually empty a good tbsp or so of turf balls out of the shoes. It's also uncomfortable for running, so a lot of turf soccer cleats have like a side fabric attached to the cleat, to try & keep some of that out of the shoe.
DeleteYour day sounds like so much fun, and well done on such a great hike!
I hate your son is missing his last two games because of an injury. I hope he heals quickly. I hope your day was a wonderful (restful?) catch-up day.
ReplyDeleteHe was really disappointed, but seems to be bouncing back. And, the day was really restful!
DeleteSorry to hear that your son injured his knee. Wishing for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteThank you! He's been back to practice, and has his first game tomorrow, so fingers crossed!
