April goals

It's time to set bright & sparkly new goals for the month!

1) Financial -
  • Start forecasting & modeling our plans for selling our rental house
  • Pay our taxes. Yay. ;-)
  • Adjust our budget as needed, now that we've had a month in the house.
  • Build a list & budget for all remaining house projects
  • Find one alternative cost cutting option
  • Sell another $100 of items on either eBay or my local Facebook swap site.
  • Finalize our decluttering & organizing in the new house
2) Family - Spend more time together as a family!

  • Do a minimum of one fun activity/month with the kids. This can be family puzzle night, cooking dinner together, board games, going out somewhere, etc.
  • Be more present with the kids & M - play games, minimize computer time, exercise together, etc.
  • Have two dates with M per month (one lunch, one evening)
  • Continue researching plans for an adult trip in October

    3) Fitness/health - Lose 3 pounds in April
    • Run 20 miles in April
    • Run a 10K
    • Eat five servings of fruit & vegetables (combined) per day
    • Complete 1000 minutes of cardio
    • Complete 6 strength workouts.
    • Complete 6 stretching workouts.

    4) Work/career - Improve my work life balance.
    • Keep better perspective at work/reduce stress
    • Work from home 2x this month.

      5) Personal/creative - Spend more time on myself/creative pursuits.
      • Try a new recipe
      • Do something social at least once per month.
      • Volunteer a minimum of 1x/month.

What about you? What's on your list of goals for April? Anything big or small that you very much wish to accomplish this month?

      1. I have vowed I do not want another family picture with me feeling inadequate, even if it is in my head. I have 16 weeks until my nieces wedding. Step one of feeling good involves adding working out and nightly walk (real walks-not pup walks, plus increasing fruit and veg to my April goals. Also, continue on my increase in water consumption, decrease soda. Good luck with your goals-I'll be rooting you on.

        1. Those sound like great fitness goals! I find that if I eat the right amount of fruit & vegetables, it's much easier to keep the calories under control. I gave up soda as a new year's resolution a few years ago, and it stuck. I now have maybe a can/year.

      2. I just want to make it through this month breathing. I am so overwhelmed. But, I need to close down the business, move, close on the house, fingers crossed, close on the loan, and pick the phase 1 items. Anything else that happens is a bonus!

        1. I hear you! OUr lives are similarly complex at this phase. Here's hoping we both exit the month with as much as possible complete, and a more relaxing summer on the horizon!

      3. I know you will find the best way to adjust to your new normal. Good for you for remembering to keep the personal things going also(like date nights). I think sometimes we forget about ourselves when there are changes in our lives!

        1. I find that it's really important to hit that balance, as you've said. Otherwise, I wake up after a month of no quality time with my husband, and realize how much I miss it, and how much it would have helped us stay better connected.
