The windy day brings lemons

When you have a lemon tree, there are sometimes a bunch of surprises on the ground after a storm. Just a few. ;-) Now I have to figure out how to use all of them.

Also, there was a huge storm in the town where we own our vacation house. There is no power, and the news photos look really terrible. I haven't been able to get an update on our house, so fingers crossed. There have been no reported injuries, so I hope everyone in the pacific northwest stays safe & dry this weekend!

  1. I heard this morning that a tornado touched down there; another one came ashore at Oceanside! Thinking good thoughts that everything and everyone is OK.

  2. I hope your house is ok. So far we have not had the worst of it yet. Coming tomorrow apparently. A poor boy died in Vancouver due to a tree falling on him, terrible, right in the high school yard. I heard of the tornado warnings in Washington State, have been glued to the online weather forecasts. The island we were supposed to travel to is 2/3 without power so we made the right call.

    1. We missed the damage by a few blocks, fortunately. But, so sad for all of our neighbors, who are dealing with a significant amount of damage.

  3. I hope all stay safe-we jsut have not been updated in the midwest on this storm. Matthews was covered hourly, but nothing on this. I am eager to hear what you did withthe lemons. does the juice freeze well to maybe use later, like for holiday cooking?

    1. I do try & juice as many as possible. We're at 40 or so now with all of the storms. I'm also going to try & give them away - it haunts me when they go bad! I need to find a good lemon muffin recipe. And, the way we use the most is in lemon drops. ;-)
