A decision has been made

I'm so excited for Sam - he's officially decided on Oregon State University, which we visited a few weeks ago for admitted student day. He had a hard time deciding between that and another school that was near his girlfriend, but the academics for his major at OSU were outstanding. OSU is also pretty close to both my parents & my sister, which also made him happy.

As for me, I'm thrilled to have a decision, so we can move onto all of the next steps of the process, including our schedule, getting orientation booked, housing, declining all of the other schools, travel plans, etc.

Go, Beavers!

  1. Ah, congratulations to all, such a wonderful and exciting time of life!
Enjoy every single moment of it Mom!

I loved the college years with both my girls, visiting and then slowly moving to a role of bystander instead of the one leading everything. It was exciting, and I wish you all the very best!

    1. It's so exciting. I'm very happy for him, and feel really lucky that he gets to be away from home, have that four year college experience, while still having a safety net when he wants it (my family is closeish by). (HP)

    1. It really is. It's a good mix of independence, not near his parents/home, but plenty of support should he need/want it. (HP)

  7. Congratulations to Sam. Neither of our sons applied to more than one University once they were accepted to the one closest to us.

    God bless.

    1. Thank you! Looking out of state is an entire process, with lots of hoops. Applying to public schools in California is pretty different, given how competitive the schools are, unfortunately.

    1. It really is such a great school. When I was applying, they were every strong on the agriculture side, but they have invested heavily in engineering as well, and are quite popular with California students. (HP)
