- Finalize a move date
- Sign formal offer letter (M). This task will make the move "official" & trigger a bunch of other tasks that are pending until this is complete.
- Determine school district & register boys.
- Cancel child care for this school year in our current district.
- Continue to decluttter. This is an ongoing task. ;-) I'm hoping to tackle our bedroom & more kitchen items.
- Create a work back schedule based on finalized move date.
- Purchase flights to visit San Francisco. Coordinate childcare with my sister.
- Cancel boys soccer for fall
- Attempt to locate fall soccer for both kids in SF. This could be tricky.
- Take books to Half Price.
- Return extraneous purchases to the mall.
- Go through the pantry again & check to see what my sister wants.
- List treadmill on Craigslist.
- Go through the toys.
- Make muffins out of all the bananas lingering in the freezer.
- Talk to my HR department at work.
- Clean both freezers.
- Create a menu/plan with my sister for our family beach trip.
- Figure out additional benefits at M's work.
- Make a packing list/inventory.
- Find a new rheumatologist & get on a waiting list.
- Find the boys a new pediatrician.
- Verify immunizations are up-to-date.
- Cancel boys school supply orders.
- Get school supply list for new school.

Moving - the to do list
I'm starting to get a little anxious on the moving front. ;-) I'm breaking down our tasks into weekly chunks, to make them more manageable. Here's what needs to get done this week:

That's quite a list. I've never moved (as an adult). I can't imagine trying to close down the pieces of one life while trying to figure out the logistics of finding a new one in a new city. Hope you get lots crossed off your list
ReplyDeleteIt's . . . a lot! That's for sure. :-)
DeleteOnce we had kids, we only moved 1.5 hours away from our old house and let me tell you what a colossal CHORE that was!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine having to pack up and move a family of 4 or 5 across a couple of state lines!
Good luck and try not to stress out over any of this.
If it gets too long for you to get done, prioritize, prioritize, prioritize!
8-)
I'm trying to stay calm & remember that it will all get done, no matter what. That's my mantra! :-)
DeleteI like #15 :) Yum!!! Good luck on your list!
ReplyDeleteI have a fab recipe that I'll have to post. I love baking, so this will be one of the *fun* things I do! :-)
DeleteWow! So much going on for you!! I'm just catching up now. It sounds like you'll have a busy rest of the summer, but San Francisco is so beautiful! Can't wait to hear all about it! :)! Congrats to hubby for landing an awesome job!!
ReplyDeleteWe are super excited. I just need the details ironed out so we can officially get things going (a location for our rental house so I can enroll the boys in school, etc).
DeleteGosh that's some list! Good luck! Don't forgot to take a little time out! :)
ReplyDeleteI really need to remember this. Luckily, I have lots of friends to see before we go, so that will be a nice respite from all of the work. ;-)
