An abbreviated one, as we've been traveling & had lots of moving parts.
Saving on things we buy:
- Parked at the airport vs using a rideshare, which was much cheaper given time of the year/surge pricing. Also pre-booked a month or so ago, saving 20%
Earning money:
- Participated in a shopping focus group and made $75
- More of my United upgrades cleared, and M's coworker gifted me $200 as a thank you. Note that the upgrade cost $6k if you wanted to pay cash (international flight), so a huge value for him. I'm glad they aren't expiring!
Avoiding spending:
- Went to the airport lounge (free with our card) & filled up my water bottle (I like ice) & the teens had free snacks.
Eating what we have
- Used up six bananas from the freezer to make banana muffins for M. He'll take some of these on the ski trip, and the rest are in the freezer.
- M grilled chicken on Sunday, and everything we didn't eat went into the freezer, to pull out for a quick and easy future meal.
- Sam ate the last of the taquitos he found in the freezer
- Brought the last of our pomegranates to my parents house, for pomegranate martinis.
For others
- Cleaned out both boys ski bags & gave away everything that didn't fit. Ski clothes can be very pricey, so my BN neighbors were very appreciative.
What about you? Any wins to share?
