2024 was a big year for my side hustle (helped by my "funemployment"), but there were a few outliers that skewed the numbers. In order to give the most complete picture, I thought I would give a bit more color into how the money was made.
All told, I made double my goal of $3,000 for the year, earning $7164 of "side hustle" income.
In order of how much I made:
- Jewelry store - $2113
- Ebay - $1573.55
- FB Marketplace - $864.12
- Work settlement (not severance, but a class action lawsuit) - $604.53
- Costco rebate - $523
- United plus point thank you gifts (sharing upgrades) - $350
- Staffing agency - AI user study work (9 hrs) $244.32
- Rakuten - $183.36
- Respondent (user study company, new & started in December) - $150
- Prolific - user survey site. New & started in December - $138.98
- iBotta cash withdrawal - $95.56
- Fetch - $80
- Last bonus for a transition I completed during my last week at work - $75
- Unclaimed property - $46.06
- Corporate survey - $50
- Equifax settlement - $25.28
- Health care survey - $25
- Audi settlement - $22.79
I discovered a few new ways to earn money in the last few months, so I'm trying them out (in italics). What about you? Any good side hustles you would recommend?
Fantastic ! Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteNot sure it factors in - but also Grocery rewards. It's spending money to make money, but shopping the deals can be lucrative, and my store offers free items weekly or when a certain amount is spent and transferred to points.
ReplyDeleteI use Prolific and find the surveys to be interesting. After reading your post, I signed up for Respondent. It is somewhat annoying that they make you wait a week before making any changes to your profile-I discovered a typo in my phone number after I had completed my profile and can't apply for studies until their waiting period ends. We get the Costco rebate and apply it to the cost of the next year's membership. I use Rakuten and Mr. Rebates as well as airline and hotel shopping portals sometimes. I've used couple of "try a product" things that I saw on Reddit-you buy a food item from a particular store and get rebated for the cost of the item. I also use the IQ, Pulse, Shopkick, Survey Monkey, Google Opinion and Perksy apps. Not a lot of $$ but it all adds up. I'd be interested to hear how you found the user testing staffing agency.
