M & I were supposed to be in Hawaii, celebrating our 20th anniversary for the next week or so. However, we were both starting new jobs (M starts his new full time job on Monday, after consulting for a few months), so we made a good bet, but it was still a little sad to see those flight reminders pop up on our calendar.
We have plenty of fun things ahead, and decided to make our trip to New Zealand a combined 50th birthday/20th anniversary trip, so lots of opportunities to celebrate just the same.
This weekend is our mini anniversary celebration, and we are getting a couples massage this morning (my surprise to M) at a lovely spa near us. Then we are heading to lunch out at a place we've been wanting to try. We may or may not go to dinner on our actual anniversary mid-week. M may actually have a work event that evening. 😂
Plans for today:
- Make a menu plan
- Early workout class
- Couples massage
- Lunch together
- Return a few things at the mall (all of the items I ordered to try on have come in, and those I'm not keeping are ready to be returned)
- Laundry
- Pick up the house
- Give away more on Buy Nothing
- List books on eBay
I really need to do laundry and get a dent in housework. No one was here really last week consistently other than pets and my daughter left food here that should be eaten up so no grocery shopping needed or other errands. I'd like to go see my college niece dive as it's closer than I'd ever get to see her as a highschool 30 minutes away has a diving depth pool several St Paul colleges use for competitions. Hers has its own. I can see the calendar popups be a disappointment but you seem to be making the best of your other trip. Congratulations and best wishes to M on his new job.
ReplyDeleteWorking! Happy Anniversary to you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to M on his new job and Happy Anniversary to y’all!!! P.S. I understand bc back in 2011 I was supposed to fly to Hawaii to see my daughter (Navy) but started a new job the week before my scheduled trip and had to cancel my flight. Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteOur 50th anniversary is this January and so we used our trip to Eastern Canada as our celebration. Will probably have a quiet night at home when the date rolls around.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
