I'm late to the party, as I was visiting Sam over the weekend. Always so nice to see my young adult! (I wanted to say baby, but we are long past that phase!)
Here's what's on the menu for the week (and, going through Sunday, as I need to get planned for a visit with family:
- Friday - I took Sam & his roommate out for dinner at a place near the hotel. I had a Cobb salad
- Saturday - Sam & I shared appetizers for dinner
- Sunday - M grilled burgers
- Monday - out to dinner for a birthday celebration
- Tuesday - leftover burgers
- Wednesday - my parents will be in town, but we will be getting home late from the game. I will have tacos prepped, so we can quickly eat.
- Thursday - chicken pad Thai + spring rolls (both from Costco), as we will be having 5 extra people staying with us
- Friday - likely pizza, as we have Nick's senior night + a bunch of guests
- Saturday - any leftovers from the week
- Sunday - out, as we are going skiing
As you can see, it's a bit of a wild ride this week! What about you? What's on your menu this week?
Great menu plan there. Heck I look at our sons who have given up on telling me not to call them "boys" and say "No matter how old you get you will always be my babies in my mind."
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
own your own was on the menu... I had the flu
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to hear more about Sam and Corvallis and the university and how his semester is going. (I guess I am just nosy. )
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me, pizza on Friday sounds good! We are winging it this week. I just found a container of dressing in the freezer as I was looking for some soup, so I'll use that for dinner tonight with the chicken I made over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteTuna casserole sans peas tonight. ( It’s my “I don’t want to cook” meal.”) The other day I ran into corned beef on sale and we had it slow cooked in a Guiness. After we ate that meal, DH suggested I get two more and have a repeat this week. (One corned beef is just not quite enough for my hollow legged boys.)
ReplyDeleteWe got snowed in last week (as snowed in as it gets in the North Sound$ so I made an apple pie with homemade canned filling. It seemed fitting for the weather. Last night I made a copycat Nothing Bundt cake (chocolate with peanut butter piping.)
We have a freezer full of salmon, chicken, beef roasts, steaks and ground beef. There are plenty of ingredients, just no inspiration!
DD comes home for her mid semester break in two weeks, and I am sure she will make suggestions. And, for all we are on a spending blackout for the foreseeable future, I am sure she and the brothers will hit up a few places for meals. I have also heard talk of planning another blitz…essentially, the kids and I decided at the last minute over Christmas break to pile into two cars and head down the road to a locally owned (on of the only ones for 25 miles) restaurant. Husband opted to stay home. We got there pretty late for our area, but got seated quickly, and had a blast. We had one holdout (youngest) who didn’t come immediately, but after DD and eldest texted him pictures, he caved and drove down. The thinking was that DH insisted he go so he could have the house to himself, but kid said he just decided it looked like fun for all he wasn’t hungry.) Our table cheered loudly when he walked in. (Alcohol may have been involved.) The waitress offered to hold all our meals until his was ready, and the kid who wasn’t hungry wound up getting an appetizer, Ling cod fish and chips, and dessert. All in all, a great time, for all the bill was over $350.00 . That was appetizers, dinner, desserts, a bottle of wine and four cocktails. And yay, me, I didn’t correct the waitress when she took youngest’s drink order without checking an I.D. I was too busy laughing at the others’ faces. (FWIW, he discovered doesn’t like gin and tonics, and I gained some knowledge of their younger days behavior. It’s nothing I didn’t really know, and not anything shocking, but they really are each other’s “ride or die.” They also agreed they would rather do something like that 2or 3 times/year than regularly going to a nondescript casual dining place.
