That first Monday of the new year always feels like the official start to 2026, even though we've been at this for a few days now!
We had a lovely time in Las Vegas, and it was so much fun to have my parents join as well.
We are very much back to reality, on this Monday of all Mondays. Sam started his new quarter for school today, Nick heads back on Wednesday. M & I are back to work, and we've kicked off our dry "January"/next 30 days.
I have lots of goals to accomplish, but mostly I just want a nap today. I'm guessing I'm not alone in that.
I'm excited for 2026 and getting a lot done, and enjoying all of the moments along the way.

Enjoying the Palm.Springs Int'l Film Festival today and through the week. Kick started day with a three mile walk under sunny skies. Two more miles over the day as we walk to our movies, for five in total. Leftover pizza for dinner from last night's outing, then we'll walk to a brewery for a nightcap and to talk about the films.we saw.

Working today - and dreaming of a working dishwasher and water in my sink...its going to feel like such luxury. Found out my next two paychecks will be a little bigger and that is taking the sting out of things.
ReplyDeleteMy back was actually much better today so I finished up the freezer and freezer inventory. Worked a bit at a time on that. Did most of the tasks necessary to keep the homestead running fairly smoothly, and even got a chance to do some embroidery.
