November Goals

I have a bunch of family planning to do in November, so I need to get going on my goals. I also need to focus more on relaxing (minimal news consumption, more meditating & journaling, reducing evening electronics.)

Here are my October goals:

1) Financial

  • Stick to the budget
  • Finalize tax update
  • Come up with a new way to reduce what we need/spend on an ongoing basis
  • Make $300 in side hustle
  • Sell five items
  • Use up 5 freezer items
  • Use up 5 irregular pantry/fridge
  • Revise our 2020 budget
2) Family - spend more time together
  • Do one fun activity/month with the kids
  • Off the computer by 7:45 each evening
  • Two dates with M
  • Continue with Sam's plan at school/with doctors.
  • Deep clean the entire house
  • Finish door project & budget/plan for trim
  • Finalize February ski week plans
  • Get the boys passports
  • Get Sam's paperwork for major school trip finished
  • Finish at least 1/2 of my Christmas shopping/planning
  • Figure out plan for boys for Thanksgiving break
3) Fitness/health - lose 4 lbs
  • Run 8 times
  • Track calories (1400/day) & eat 5 servings of fruit & veggies/day
  • Work out 30 times
  • Meditate 10 times
4) Personal/creative
  • Do two social things
  • Volunteer a minimum of 1x
  • Journal 15 times
  • Read one non-fiction book
What about you? What are your goals for November?

  1. My goals are: 1) have all the Christmas gifts I have purchased wrapped by Thanksgiving 2) Arrange to have the house measured for blinds 3) Read 3 books 4)Remove 10 items from my home. 5) Bake and begin to feed my fruitcake (that has to be completed today.
    Happy November.

    1. Oooh, your #5 is intriguing. Does the fruitcake need to marinate, or what happens that takes so long?

I also like your #4, and will give that a try as well.

  2. My Mom will be visiting for the month from back home, so the main goal is spending quality time together with only a few days off available from work. I hope to pick up my basic sewing skills again with her help, I scored a brand new basic sewing machine but bought secondhand yesterday. My son will have 4 weekly soccer practices until Christmas and we plan to work out in the gym at least 3 times with the Soccer parents as we get discounted gym passes where the boys train. So the new goals are to loose some pounds and gain muscle, be fitter. I am still trying to read one book a week and need to clean my main floor big windows, maybe even see new curtains. Less media and screen time is always a goal and a struggle for the whole family.

    1. I can relate to the soccer practices. Our practices are outdoor, but I try to use the time to work out as well. Love that you are planning to improve your sewing skills.

  3. As I recall, you blew the side hustle out of the water in October. Your list looks very ambitious-good luck.

    1. I did do well with side hustle in October. It varies so much month to month.

  4. Work out 30 times, come on girlfriend..... really?:)

    1. That's been about my average. But, keep in mind that sometimes I am able to walk for a couple of hours at work, if I can talk my coworkers into doing walking meetings, vs sitting in a conference room. I also go to a HIIT class, to bump up the actual working out.

  5. Wow! That is an impressive to do list. I just want to be ready for Thanksgiving since family is coming.
