Long weekend Sunday

It's amazing how having Monday off changes the "feel" of Sunday. Yay for long weekends! The heat is continuing today, unfortunately, so I'll be mostly focused on inside tasks.

Here's what's on the to do list today:

  • Make muffins
  • Work out (probably indoor, unless the kids want to go to the track tonight, after it cools a bit)
  • Laundry
  • Journal
  • Meditate
  • Posture stretches
  • Duolingo
  • Decide on plan & budget for planter boxes
  • Work with M on remaining house projects, priorities & budget
  • Organize hall closet, pantry & garage pantry
  • Deal with M's old suits (too big not relevant for current job)
  • List our digital camera on eBay
I think M is making chicken tonight, which will have with corn & rice. Yum!

What about you? What are you up to today?

  1. We are boiling down here as well, so we'll remain inside until about 4pm, at which point we will go for a barefoot walk in the waves at the beach, then pick up a wood fired pizza and return to the beach to watch the sunset. People applaud at the point the sun disappears into the horizon, a tradition I just love.

Before then my plans are to vacuum our always-dusty wood floors, practice guitar, do my online Spanish homework, and my daily Book Club reading. This month's pick is sci-fi, my least favorite genre, so it's been a slog.

    1. You've reminded me to practice Spanish! And, love that tradition of applauding at sunset. Sounds fabulous.

I'm not a fan of sci-fi either, so commend you for trying to get through your book club selection.

  2. it is very hot here too. I hope the heat continues through September so I can continue to enjoy the pool. By October, even if it is hot the leaves start to fall and they win the removal battle so we surrender and cover the pool.

  3. We made it through a low-key day yesterday, I think. We had a crafty morning together while PiC got in a workout, then we had lunch and a lovely unplanned Zoom playdate for JB while the adults hung out on another call and caught up. It's pretty amazing to get to talk to our local friends again, we've all just been struggling to get by day to day and sitting and talking like this has been entirely absent.

  4. Sunday was odd. It got to 80+, but if the sun went behind a cloud, it was almost cool. Yesterday was coolish and wet and today really cool. I know we have some summer left. As I wrote, I didn't have a great Sunday, but yesterday started feeling more balanced. Today-I am, but had some very sad news. As it is not raining, a long walk with the dog once I take care of a few e-mails that I am waiting on information form a few others.
