Something for yourself

Today, of all days, seems like the right day for this post. :-)

It's way too easy to get caught up in the cycle of what we're not doing, and focusing on all of the people that depend on us. Kids, employer, spouse, family, friends.

Today, I'd like to challenge you to do something just for yourself. If you're a part of the February Fitness Challenge, take the time to accomplish one of your goals. Make a healthy meal, go for a long walk, meditate at home, whatever.

If you're not part of the challenge - carve out 15 minutes to read a book, write in a journal, or take a hot bath.

Here's my commitment to myself today:
  1. Making time to run 4 miles
  2. A yoga or pilates workout after the kids go to bed.
It's as simple as that, but when things come up, time to myself is the first to go. My birthday is this week (I'm getting old! ;-)), so my gift to myself will be carving out time every day to focus on me.

What are you going to do for yourself today? Leave a comment & make a commitment to yourself! :-)

Dreaming of the beach this week!

  1. Hmm . . . so many things to chose from. Just for me I'm going to sit down with my manuscript for half an hour and work on it. (Hopefully before I start falling asleep.)

  4. Happy Birthday and no, you are NOT old......I am old.

I will drink a hard cider this evening for "me" time. I'll do some arm exercises with my weights too first. ;-)

  5. My "me" time for today was going to workout on my lunch hour. I really didn't want to and had several errands I could have ran but I decided I needed to do this to help myself lose weight.

  9. You guys are all wonderful for making time for yourself! I did work out, but did a cross-train. I ended up having to work late due to an email issue, so no yoga.

Birthday is on Sunday! I'm planning to ski with the family, eat cupcakes, & enjoy a few glasses of wine. A perfect way to spend a day. :-)
