Long weekend Saturday

It's gorgeous here today, which makes for a great long weekend. I got up & went for a run, but wish I was up earlier, as it was already hot. My pace was about a minute off my normal, so I clearly need to start adjusting to the warmer temperature.

Last night I tried a new recipe, and thought it was easy & kid friendly - Easy Taco Bake. I made it exactly as described, but did sub out the sour cream & used Greek yogurt, as it's what I had on hand. Turned out great.

I made a few eBay sales, and got those packaged & ready to go. I'm working on some old crystal that I've never used, getting that cleaned & listed. The kids are playing tennis & M is getting supplies to build shelves in a few of our closets. Hurrah.

And, a little bit of progress in the garden! Tomatoes & peppers, starting to come out.

That's it for me. I'm off to get things done. Hope everyone is having a fabulous Saturday.

  1. Do you really make any money on ebay? I am afraid to start. Any suggestions?

    1. It's hit or miss, for sure. I'd say that if it's something larger or not worth as much, a local swap site is a way better idea, as you don't have to pay any fees/postage.

I find that lighter, small items are best to start, so you can practice & get the hang of it. I'm not sure I made any money at the beginning, when I started about 10 years ago. Now I've made the mistakes, & track my earning. I did lose money on one transaction this year ($.50, so not a big deal), and I'm still unclear of what I did wrong on the postage front.
I'm no pro, but have made about $1k this year, selling stuff around the house. We have a lot of name brand kid items, or licensed sports wear (Blazers, Sounders, etc jerseys that the kids get as gifts). Those resell well, and are lightweight & easy to mail & package.

  2. It dawned early and bright here and stayed sunny for a change and I'm so grateful for that! It was really helpful for my mental state to have some bright and light outside. I'm hoping to do some more yardwork if my hands cooperate, today. Maybe eventually we'll even tackle something like planning a garden?? (Not soon though)

    1. The sun is fabulous! Maybe just start with a couple of herbs in a pot? Basil and mint are both easy. My husband intended to plant cilantro, and ended up with parsley & I can verify that parsley grows like a weed! It's huge.

      Hope you enjoy your weekend!

  3. Oh tomatoes and peppers! My tomatoes are still several weeks from blooming. Cold spring here this year.

    1. We are loving the sunshine, but it's getting too hot to weed during the majority of the day. I'm not a fan of the super hot weather, so prefer it a few degrees cooler. But, beggars can't be choosers!
