Menu plan + freezer clean out

I've mentioned that we are dealing with new food allergies/avoidances at our house lately, which is really impacting our ability to meal plan, cook one meal for everyone, & eat down the freezer. I'm going to be a bit more targeted this week, as we desperately need to work down our freezer stash. At this point, it would be difficult to fit else anything into either of our freezers!

Here's the menu plan for the week (or so) ahead:


  • Friday - chicken sandwiches + smoothies
  • Saturday - turkey, stuffing & gravy (freezer). Prep ahead slow cooker pork carnitas
  • Sunday - Asian cabbage stir fry
  • Monday - I'll turn the turkey leftovers into Thanksgiving leftovers in a crescent roll
  • Tuesday - Pork carnitas. Rice or tortillas for those who can eat it
  • Wednesday - leftover Asian cabbage stir fry
  • Thursday - Eat any remaining leftovers
  • Friday - Spaghetti & meatballs (zoodles for some)

Things this will use from the freezer:
  • A few pieces of chicken
  • Turkey, stuffing & gravy
  • Tortillas
  • Meatballs
That's it from our side. If anyone has any dairy free keto recipes to recommend, I'd appreciate it!

  1. I have been doing the keto thing for quite a while, and have a vast collection of recipes that we are keeping. For it to be a keeper, TheHub, who is not keto, has to like it and my new DIL is a great "trial". She is a pickier eater than we are and if she loves it I know it is good.

  2. I'd love more ideas for dairy-free keto and hope you get some good recipe ideas here! Our standard items are:

    A big stir-free (meat, veggies, Bragg's seasoning in wok then drizzle with sesame oil and toss almonds on top.

    Cook a big chunk of meat and curry it (we have a homemade curry recipe from friends that is easy and keto) with veggies on the side and rice for those who can have it.

    Brussel sprouts tossed in olive oil, salt and pepper then oven-baked. Add a bit of crumbled bacon for extra yumminess.

    Green beans lightly steamed then gently 'fried' with oil and garlic. Way yummier than butter on them.

    Broth soups. Any leftover meat scraps/bones are used to make bone broth which is high in both the fats and other nutrients. Toss in lots of veggies and some meat and you're ready to eat! Can be poured over noodles for the non-keto people.

    Mexican. You can use a large cabbage leaf as a tortilla or just pile the contents on a bed of lettuce for the keto people. The rest of us get tortillas :-)

    Hamburgers are actually very good with avocado and fried onions.

    Not sure if any of that is stuff you're not already trying but they're what's currently working for my dairy-free keto husband.
