January Goals

I'm super excited for January. A fresh new year, and fresh new goals! My big priorities for 2018 are: losing 20 pounds, running a half marathon, & quitting my job. Nothing to see here. :-)

Financial:

  • Finalize all 2018 budget trackers
  • Stick to 2018 budget
  • Model out savings plan for the year
  • Come up with one way to reduce what we need/spend on an ongoing basis
  • Assuming one car is back from the shop, sell our sedan
  • If we sell the sedan, call around for new car insurance.

Family:

  • Have one family evening together: cooking dinner, board games, etc
  • Have a date night with M, and potentially a date lunch!
  • My extended family has asked for tips & tricks on travel hacking, so send a family newsletter with helpful details.
Fitness/health:
  • Complete a full round of 21 Day Fix
  • Eat 5 servings a day of fruit & veggies
  • Lose 3 pounds
  • Run at least 6 times
Work:
  • Work from home 3 days
  • Continue working through my checklist on setting an end date

Personal/creative:

  • Try a yogurt recipe
  • Spend time with a friend
  • Volunteer at least 1x
  • Book a spa/birthday treat, using my gift card
  • Complete a Dream Bio (stolen from Frugalwoods)
What about you? What are you hoping to accomplish in January, and 2018?

  1. Your list sounds pretty good to me. Mostly, I want to be healthier than I was in 2017 and spend my energy focused on people and activities that bring me joy or contribute to making a difference in the world.I'm not sure what that will all entail, but hopefully travel and more time with friends and family (non drama time) is on the calendar. continuing to work on making our house more homey, more a place of respite is ever present. Happy New Year to you and your lovely family.

    1. It's kind of refreshing to toss out the year, look past it & think about the future! I need that after the chaos of 2017.

  3. Very good goals. Especially leaving your job. that will be such a big change. I just want to keep walking(JKWP) as of June 1st we will hit the 5 year mark of walking every day. Plus just try and keep healthy and be more frugal as retirement for my husband is approaching.

    1. Absolutely. Happy to share, although it will be pretty intro 101 stuff, as my relatives were shocked but some of the most basic tips I mentioned. It was pretty cute. Glad I can help out.
