Saturday Happenings

I was up & out of the house early this morning (6:30), to get Nick to a school soccer game. It was incredibly wet & windy. In fact, the wind broke my umbrella, which left me pretty drenched for the rest of the game. It was blowing sideways. I felt like I was on the Oregon coast - definite flashbacks! The boys won handily, with a 7-0 victory, which was the reward for such a miserable morning, I suppose.

Here's what else is on the agenda:

  • Menu plan
  • Shopping list
  • Made cardamom bread for Christmas
  • Make spinach dip
  • Clean the bathrooms
  • Vacuum
  • Laundry
  • Clean the kitchen
  • Take Nick to pick up captain "armbands" for school soccer. He needs a specific color, that is hard to find. I'm a little surprised the school doesn't provide them with the uniforms, but oh well.
  • Work out. I had to skip my morning workout, to get Nick up & to soccer. Normally I'd walk or run during warmups, but I couldn't be bothered to get out of the car, until the game started.
What about you? What are you up to today?

  1. Lazy and productive both. I had a bit of vertigo this morning, think from some fluid perhaps in my ear, so let me self be lazy while it reset. I got some more Christmas stuff done, errands, groceries, and we treated ourselves to going out for pizza. Tons of leftovers bti keep hubs happy for the games tomorrow.

    1. I hope you're feeling better today! We ask everyone what they want to put on the dinner menu each week, and almost without fail, Nick asks for pizza delivery. ;-)

  2. Today I’m wrapping the last two Christmas presents, but putting bows on all of them since I didn’t do that the other day. Had an Instacart order delivered so I put that away. Steamed a bunch of clothes for Bailey and her shops. Just the usual same old same old. 😊

    1. Sounds like you are ready for Christmas! I finished adding the glaze to my bread, so once it sets a bit, I'll be freezing it, and marking it off my to do list. I'm very close to being ready as well, which feels good!

  3. I can't believe they still play in such foul weather! It was so wet here all day yesterday the kids didn't get any outdoor time. I would have let them play in the rain but Smol Acrobat is still recovering from a multitude of illnesses.

JB and PiC ran all our errands for which I am so thankful. I did the final wrapping of gifts today, we just have a few more cash gifts to pull together before the holidays. I'm resting up now that I've caught something from one of the kids.

    1. I hope you (and everyone in your entire crew) feel excellent next week.

When we lived in Seattle, they play soccer in the fall, & I'd say that 9/10 games are played in the rain. I grew up playing lots & lots of rainy/muddy soccer games. That's just what you did. We are a little "softer" here, in California, and Nick was not super excited to get out of the car. :-)
