Saturday Happenings

M & I had a lovely dinner out last night, but our shopping trip was largely a fail, as the shops closed at 7. We were very surprised by the early close, particularly this close to the holidays. We did find a couple of items, but I was primarily looking for a pair of shoes. I prefer always to shop online, but it's hard to find shoes, when you don't quite know what you're looking for. I suppose I'll need to order a variety & then just return what doesn't work.

Here's what we're up to today:

  • Take Nick to/from a reffing game
  • Workout class this morning
  • Take Nick & a friend to the school soccer game. That will be a big chunk of time, as they have to be there an hour early for warmups.
  • Make a shopping list
  • Costco
  • Grocery store
  • Arrange calculus tutor for the boys
  • M is making spaghetti & meatballs for dinner
What are you planning today?

  1. Plans changed a bit because with -10 wind chills makes outdoor markets less fun. But I got some cleaning done, two loads of laundry, and a bit of organized chaos for what's been bought so far for Christmas. I'm leaving soon to meet friends for alternative plans. I'm glad you had a nice evening out.

  3. From Precious: I am trying to catch up on your blog posts. I have the same problem as you. I buy shoes online and always have to return them unless they are sneakers. It's aggravating. I see the boys are still enjoying their sports. You had a busy day. Enjoy your spaghetti and meatballs. We had chicken parm and peas. I took it easy today except to change our bed sheets. That was a mistake. I managed to stub my 3rd toe on the wheel of the bed and it is so black.I am hoping it is only bruised and not broken.

    1. I never shop in person, as it feels like such a hassle vs online. But, shoes are an exception. Interestingly, I can for sure buy running shoes online, because the size & fit of the preferred brand/style are super consistent.

Chicken parm sounds fabulous! Hope your toe feels so much better.

And yes, the boys are enjoying sports. We were out in the rain for hours, at a soccer game, but Nick scored on a header (he's a defender, so this is a rare moment), so I suppose it was worth it.

  4. I am impressed that you will brave Costco on a Saturday. I have found Tuesday nights are the least crowded at the one closest to me house.
